TGIF! This week has been jam packed but in good ways. Work has been extra busy lately but that always seems to be the case when you’re gearing up for a vacation. Instead of letting it completely stress me out, I try to find gratitude for a) the opportunities and b) that I have built a career based on things I love so much (and of course there’s c)…that I’ll be practicing yoga on a Caribbean island next week.)
I saw this little gif on social media yesterday and loved it so much.
I want to stick to the topic of loving what you do for today’s blog post and share with you a few others who are out there hustling to make their dreams happen.
My friend Clara (right) turned 30, left her job at SELF magazine, moved and started a podcast late last year. Clara and I met through the world of blogging and social media and were finally able to connect in real life last summer when I was in NYC. I so admire both her tenacity and creativity.
She and her friend Brooke have launched a podcast, “Life Lately,” that’s all about life and living true to you. Their manifesto of eight essential elements of living true to you makes my heart sing.
- Showing up
- Doing the work
- Choosing love over fear
- Striving for simplicity
- Daring to be vulnerable
- Asking the big questions
- Letting your heart do the talking
- Treating yourself like gold
Be sure to check out their podcast. They have now produced nine episodes.
My friends Sarah and Carrie have created something really amazing with Pink Social Girl Tribe. They produce graphic t-shirts and other fun girly products (love their kids line) and are based out of Charlotte. But it’s not all about the t-shirts. Sarah and Carrie also launched a closed facebook group to promote their belief that “empowered women empower women.” The Pink Social Girl Tribe now includes over 1,700 women (local and national) who are dedicated to supporting each other and ending the “girl wars.”
How’s that for a dose of Friday positivity?
I’m so excited for my friend Teri from A Foodie Stays Fit. She is launching an e-book today!
In Healthy Not Hectic, Teri offers a 21-day guide to help you start healthy new habits that stick so you can stress less about healthy living and make it an effortless part of your lifestyle. It’s broken into three phases and I love that it’s offered in small daily bites that seem totally doable and sustainable.
Buy your copy for just $4.99!
A big cheers to these ladies and all of my female readers out there. Let’s keep doing awesome things and cheerleading for each other as we make dreams happen. There is enough opportunity and love out there for all of us!
