Day in the Life Thursday + Costco Trip

5:38 a.m. – alarm goes off to teach my 6 a.m. hot yoga class. I was thrilled to wake up and discover that I’d slept through the night without waking up one single time. Note, my late wake up time is thanks to living 3 minutes from the studio. Win, win for early classes!

6 a.m. teach hot class. I share the story of the 86-year old who started practicing yoga (at the age of 86!) to alleviate back pain due to scoliosis, a herniated disc and osteoporosis. It fires us all up to have a great day and get grounded in…1) it’s never too late to start and b) the possibility of putting yourself back together again.

8.11breakfast

7:30 a.m. – home after class to shower, make breakfast, vacuum and tidy up, answer yoga studio emails and work on this morning’s Spiced Zucchini, Carrot and Banana Bread recipe.

9:45 a.m. – back at the studio to teach a non-heated power flow class along with a beautiful new yogi who is mentoring with me to start teaching at the studio. She does a great job on the portion of class she teaches! We have a short feedback session after.

11:15 a.m. – finish the blog post I started earlier and publish. Update Instagram accounts I manage. Respond to blog comments.

12:30 p.m. – audition class for a new teacher (we haven’t onboarded new teachers in a really long time and have several in the works right now). She does such a wonderful job and I can’t wait to see her future as a teacher at Y2!

8.11beetburger

2 p.m. – grab lunch at Namastay Kitchen with Tanner to catch up on life and business. I have our remix salad add the beet burger.

8.11chicken

And one or two of his chicken tenders. They are housemade, gluten-free and so yum!

3 p.m. – back home to do a little bit of computer work

4:30 p.m. – trip to Costco

8.11costco

I needed to stock up on some non-perishable and staple stuff so I got bananas (need to freeze some for smoothies), almonds, walnuts, chia seeds (best deal EVER at Costco!), Premier Protein (from August 4-August 23, Premier Protein’s 18-pack shakes are discounted $5 off of retail price in Costco stores), olive oil, toothpaste, a new memory card, plastic baggies, chicken stock and almond butter.

6 p.m. – Metro to workout. It’s my first strength gym workout of the week. I’ve been so busy with work, cutting back on personal training and not meeting with my trainer lately so it’s been HARD to make it to the gym! I really didn’t feel like working out and had a headache all day today but the workout truly cured all of it. I felt about 1,000x better leaving the gym.

7:10 p.m. – leave Metro and head home. Call my grandmother on the way home and catch up with her.

7:30 p.m. –  home, prep dinner, call my mom, fold (so much) laundry, feed dogs, straighten up

8.11chickenina

9 p.m. – eat dinner while watching Olympics

9:30 p.m. start on this post while watching Olympics

10:25 p.m. publish post. After this I will watch a little more of the Olympics with Tanner, prep coffee and breakfast for tomorrow morning and then head to bed to read for a few minutes before I pass out. I have clients at 6:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. tomorrow and then teach yoga at 9:30 a.m. I’ll get my own workout in between clients. Friday is now the only day I am training.

Speaking of Tanner and crazy long days, we have a mountain getaway coming up soon and I am counting down the days until we can both just relax and chill together. <3

The end!

Tell me about your Thursday.

Did you cook?

Did you workout? How did it feel?

Every Woman’s Marathon Scottsdale Recap (marathon #4!!!)

I am on a three-hour flight home from Scottsdale so it seems like the perfect time to relive and recap yesterday’s Every Woman’s Marathon experience. I had a great day and I’m very proud of the race that I ran. It was a practice in “fun running” and that not every race effort has to [...]
