Hey, hey! I hope you guys had a great Thursday. My day was long but really good. I kicked it off with teaching at 6 a.m. and then spent the day working on various projects for the studio and my blog. I also met my friend Virginia for a run and did some fun errands.
I spent the bulk of the day at the studio because I’ve been training our new marketing coordinator. We ended up hiring someone full-time instead of freelance and I am so, so excited. She’s amazing and we desperately need the help. I ate this salad around 1 p.m. with arugula, dried cranberries, toasted almonds, avocado and chicken from Namastay Kitchen.
I met Virginia for a run this afternoon, our second run together this week! I swear I’m sorry that I keep rubbing this in but it was nearly 80 degrees and sunny for our run. We knocked out just under 6 miles at an 8:30 pace. The route we ran was super hilly but really pretty. It was a great workout.
After work I hit up Ulta and CVS to pick up a few things. Ulta was totally unnecessary but I’ve been wanting to refresh my makeup routine a bit so I thought our upcoming vacation was a good excuse to do it. I’m particularly excited about these three finds…
- Smashbox Golden Hour Eye Pallete
- Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation
- Benefit Rockateur Rose Gold Blush
I also picked up new Tweezerman slant tweezers because they’re just the best and I lost mine. I also got a Tweezerman eyelash curler and my favorite ROC retinol eye cream.
At CVS I got deodorant, some travel-sized things and tons of sunblock – including this La Roche-Posay sunscreen that is super highly rated. At $29, it wasn’t cheap but I don’t mess around when it comes to protecting my face.
Okay, let’s chat about running for a minute.
First, I’m excited to announce that I’ve been asked to serve as a social ambassador for Newton Running in 2017. My mom gave me my first pair of Newton’s as a birthday gift nearly two years ago and it’s been love ever since. I’m looking forward to working with them!
Second, I’m considering running the Corporate Cup Half Marathon on March 4. Given that I haven’t really run further than 7 miles since December, it’s a bit of a toss up on how this might turn out but I’m hopeful. I was offered a free entry to the race and I just have a hard time saying no to local half marathons. I so enjoy the distance and running around our awesome city. The real selling point is that it benefits an organization near and dear to my heart…the Y. I’ve been an employee of the Y for about 8 years now and I am so appreciative of all they do for the community.
Last year’s race had record participation and generated more than $210,000 for the YMCA’s Annual Campaign. That money goes directly to YMCA programs benefiting Y readers and the Stratford Richardson community. 2017 marks the 38th running of the race and they’re expecting the biggest turnout yet.
So…join me!?
Also, the Y has graciously offered me a couple of FREE entries to give away to my local readers. Please leave a comment letting me know if you’d like it! I’ll give away one entry here and one on Instagram over the weekend.
And I leave you with this. Tanner spilled a bunch of food on the floor when he was transferring food from the bag to the container tonight and the girls went NUTS. Zoey was choking she was inhaling it so quickly.
Half marathon…yes or no?
