It’s been a long, exhausting and amazing weekend. I just wrapped up weekend seven of eight of yoga teacher training and can’t believe that we only meet one more time. The past three months have been so focused on teacher training (thank you for hanging in there with me for it!) and the end seemed far away…and now it’s here. Two weeks from today I will be done!
I plan on writing a post dedicated to my reflections from training after it is over so I will spare you tonight! 😉
We focused a lot on actually teaching this weekend which was awesome for everyone. There is nothing like getting up there and actually practicing what you have learned. I was especially appreciative of this because I am teaching TWO yoga classes at the Y this week and I am nervous but excited. I was grateful for the opportunity to practice on my fellow trainees!
It went really well! I kind of just went into my normal “teaching mode” but used yoga words instead! 😛
I feel pretty good about my classes this week. I have my class plan and sequencing down, I just have to work on my playlist now. What type of music do you guys like to hear in power flow classes?
I’ll change gears to show you what I did outside of the studio this weekend! Brandon and I went out for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants last night.
We used a restaurant.com gift certificate to go to George’s. It’s a French Brasserie with delicious food. They have an amazing patio so we took advantage of the mild evening and sat outside to eat for the first time this year!
The bread bowl didn’t stand a chance against me after spending all day in training! I especially love their salty soft butter. Mmm…
We split a salad with apples, walnuts, blue cheese and lardons.
I ordered the salmon. Last night I ate meat for the first time in nine days! I didn’t quite make it 10 but I couldn’t pass this up. It is my favorite! Mashed English peas, beet vinaigrette, creme fraiche and a rosti potato.
A wonderful meal, as always.
I was at the studio this morning for an 8 a.m. ashtanga practice. For some reason, my energy levels were through the ROOF today. I struggled with channeling that energy during my practice and all I could think about was how much I wanted to be running! About an hour into my 1:45 minute practice, I finally got in a groove and ended up finishing really strong.
I packed overnight oats to eat for breakfast after practice. So cool and refreshing.
We had a long lunch break today so I came home and just couldn’t help myself.
I had to run. I just had this fire inside of me saying, “run, run, run!” I took Sullie out for a quick and speedy three miles. She was most appreciative of the exercise!
Lunch in the car on the way back to training was a green monster made with a big scoop of protein powder for calories and muscle recovery and half of an almond butter and honey sandwich.
And I’m off again…we have my father in law’s birthday celebration tonight and I am late getting over there. I am so ready to crash after this weekend but have to power through this first!
