Class description: CrossFit is like no other workout you’ve ever experienced. The easiest way to describe it is as a strength and conditioning program that is constantly varied with high intensity and functional movements. Classes are about an hour in duration and follow this format: :

- Dynamic warm up/stretching
- Skill work – we work a skill/movement that is frequently performed in workouts like muscle ups and handstand pushups
- Strength work – squats, deadlifts, bench press, etc.
- “MetCon” (metabolic conditioning), commonly known as the WOD – Workout of the Day
- Cool down – stretching and mobility work utilizing bands, foam rollers and lacrosse balls

Everything we do can be scaled to allow for different fitness levels or injuries/physical limitations. Whether you are just getting started with working out or have an existing injury, we can modify or scale the exercises and work load so that everyone can participate. Our goal is to ensure you are working towards your potential with maximum effort in a safe environment.

Hi! Question about your Body Pump 6-7p Thurs class: How early would you suggest arriving before class? I have never been and wasn’t sure how packed it usually is? (I am a DOWD Y junkie, but want to try something new :)

Thanks!!

Hi Becca – there’s usually a good crowd but there’s always more space/equipment. So no need to get there super early. Please introduce yourself – would love to see you in class! :)

Jen – About to move to Charlotte ….. Have been doing Body Pump / Les Mills for 7 years —– WHY aren’t there any in Charlotte? Are the Ys there planning on adding them anywhere else besides downtown? I am thinking Harris YMCA??

Thanks!
