Happy Friday friends!
My office is closed today for our Spring holiday so Brandon and I decided to head to Georgia to visit my grandmother. We haven’t seen my family since Christmas and four months is just far too long to go without a visit!
We left after work yesterday. It’s a four-hour trip to Milledgeville so we didn’t arrive until 9:30 p.m. Car snacks included kombucha, an apple and a Chocolate Chip Brownie Larabar to hold me over for this…
Mellow Mushroom pizza! My parents came down to visit us while we’re here so my dad went out and picked up a pizza for us. Notice the his and hers dividing line!
For the girl, Cosmic Karma: red sauced base pizza with mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, roma tomatoes and pesto swirl.
For the boy, House Special: red sauced base pizza with mozzarella, pepperoni, ham, sausage, ground beef, applewood bacon (yes, that’s FIVE meats!), mushrooms, black olives, roma tomatoes, green peppers, onions and extra cheese (because you really need extra cheese when eating five varieties of meat).
Thank god for half and half.
On the side a Lil’ Greek salad. This slice + 1/2 of another. So delicious! This is one of my favorite pizzas ever. Mellow Mushroom has the best crust and pesto + sundried tomatoes is always a winning combination in my book!
Trips to visit my grandmother always allow for catching up on sleep. I got eight blissful hours last night.
Breakfast this morning was a slice of orange cranberry walnut toast and fresh fruit before going to the gym. Milledgeville is a small town but there is a nice gym here that has Les Mills programs so I was excited to go to BodyPump.
I love visiting other clubs when I travel. And the great thing about BodyPump is that it’s the same anywhere you go. The class was really fun and I actually got to do the new release, BodyPump 77, for the first time! We are launching BodyPump 77 in Charlotte next weekend so it was nice to get a sneak peek. Full review to come next week! 😀
After class I hit the treadmill for what accidentally became a speed workout. I get so bored on the treadmill that I just keep increasing the speed! I ran the first mile and a half at 8:40 and the second part at between 7:45 and 7:15. A quick cardio session but challenging and sweaty.
Lunch was a sampler plate of a few things. My grandmother made chicken salad and pimento cheese so I had a scoop of each of those. I also had smoked gouda, fresh fruit and a cookie.
It’s a beautiful day so I’m off to go enjoy it with my family. I hope everyone has a happy Easter weekend!
