Spring Break

Happy Friday friends!

My office is closed today for our Spring holiday so Brandon and I decided to head to Georgia to visit my grandmother. We haven’t seen my family since Christmas and four months is just far too long to go without a visit!

We left after work yesterday. It’s a four-hour trip to Milledgeville so we didn’t arrive until 9:30 p.m. Car snacks included kombucha, an apple and a Chocolate Chip Brownie Larabar to hold me over for this…

Mellow Mushroom pizza! My parents came down to visit us while we’re here so my dad went out and picked up a pizza for us. Notice the his and hers dividing line!

For the girl, Cosmic Karma: red sauced base pizza with mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, roma tomatoes and pesto swirl.
For the boy, House Special: red sauced base pizza with mozzarella, pepperoni, ham, sausage, ground beef, applewood bacon (yes, that’s FIVE meats!), mushrooms, black olives, roma tomatoes, green peppers, onions and extra cheese (because you really need extra cheese when eating five varieties of meat).

Thank god for half and half.

On the side a Lil’ Greek salad. This slice + 1/2 of another. So delicious! This is one of my favorite pizzas ever. Mellow Mushroom has the best crust and pesto + sundried tomatoes is always a winning combination in my book!

Trips to visit my grandmother always allow for catching up on sleep. I got eight blissful hours last night.

Breakfast this morning was a slice of orange cranberry walnut toast and fresh fruit before going to the gym. Milledgeville is a small town but there is a nice gym here that has Les Mills programs so I was excited to go to BodyPump.

I love visiting other clubs when I travel. And the great thing about BodyPump is that it’s the same anywhere you go. The class was really fun and I actually got to do the new release, BodyPump 77, for the first time! We are launching BodyPump 77 in Charlotte next weekend so it was nice to get a sneak peek. Full review to come next week! 😀

After class I hit the treadmill for what accidentally became a speed workout. I get so bored on the treadmill that I just keep increasing the speed! I ran the first mile and a half at 8:40 and the second part at between 7:45 and 7:15. A quick cardio session but challenging and sweaty.

Lunch was a sampler plate of a few things. My grandmother made chicken salad and pimento cheese so I had a scoop of each of those. I also had smoked gouda, fresh fruit and a cookie.

It’s a beautiful day so I’m off to go enjoy it with my family. I hope everyone has a happy Easter weekend!

Aww love that photo of you and your grandmother!! 🙂 And that pizza looks DELICIOUS!! I think you got the better half! 😉

I LOVE BodyPump 77!! I did it for the first time a few days ago, and it’s so TOUGH but great! I died in the around-the-world plank though at the end- so hard!! Can’t wait to hear what you think! 😀

Emma – the around the world plank was awesome and I am in LOVE with the new clean and press combo. I’m teaching that track in the launch and I can’t WAIT!

Looks like a wonderful start to the Easter weekend!! Have a great time with your family!!

My husband loves meat lovers pizzas too. But that’s it. He wouldn’t add as many veggies as Brandon did. 🙂

Jen, it’s a small world. I live in CA, and today I met the sister of my co-worker who was visiting from Charlotte. She mentioned a love for yoga, and I learned that she practices at Y2 Yoga…AND she said that she goes to your classes. It’s crazy (awesome) that such random connections are forged through blogs 🙂

Katie – that is CRAZY and so cool!!! I agree…little blog connections pop up everywhere and I love it! 🙂

Ahhhh… I need to know which gym in Charlotte has BodyPump. That was my favorite class before I moved here, and I did not realize that anyone here does it, as I have not run across a gym with the class on their group exercise schedule. Can’t wait to here where it is!

Julia – it’s the weirdest thing…none of the gyms in Charlotte have BodyPump!!! The only Y that has it is Childress Klein Uptown. It’s in the Wells Fargo building. I would LOVE to have you in class sometime. Check out my teaching schedule – it’s one of the pages in the tabs at the top of the page! 🙂

Yay for Milledgeville! That is my hometown and I actually know your grandmother as my family and I use to attend the First United Methodist Church. Does she still go there? I have met you a few times as well but we were young then. But I am really good friends with your college roommate Hollie. Just wanted to say hi and finally admit I have been following your blog- both of them- and love them 😉
