Radiant Summer Skin with St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion {Video Review & Giveaway}

It seems that I have become a bit of an expert on all things related to taking care of my skin but it’s necessary due to my lifestyle and career. I spend hours each day sweating and working in gyms and yoga studios. In turn, I usually end up taking two to three showers every day. While this is necessary for the cleanliness and health of my skin, it’s also hard on my skin because it can be very drying.

When thinking about skin care many of us automatically think “face” but I try to be equally as mindful about what products I am using on my body. Sunscreen is step one and a good moisturizer is step two. Warm weather months can be tricky for me because I still require moisture but I need something with a lighter feel that easily absorbs. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to apply lotion after a shower when you just can’t stop sweating because your body is so warm…but it’s not fun and the lotion never seems to soak in, it just sits on the skin feeling heavy.

5.19lotion.jpg

This new line of Continuous Spray Fresh Hydration Lotions from St. Ives has been the perfect solution for warm weather skin hydration! There is zero heavy lotion feel. I was thrilled to learn that St. Ives was bringing the 360 degree continuous spray technology to body lotion. This is something I’ve been using in sunblock for years. The lotion comes in three varieties and all have unique benefits and features.

All three of the lotions include shea butter and glycerin to act as natural moisturizers. The shea butter contains moisturizing vitamins A, E and F as well as fatty acids that can place moisture back into the skin.

For demonstration sake, I took a photo of the lotion right after spraying it on my leg. You can see that it goes on in a light, even layer.

5.19spray2.jpg

It rubs in quickly and moisturizes extremely well given how light it is. I don’t have to reapply lotion all day when I use it and the scent lasts for hours. For even more insight on St. Ives’ Fresh Hydration lotion and how I’ve been using it, check out this video. You get to go to yoga and the gym with me! 🙂

Now, I want to give you a chance to try this fabulous new lotion for yourself! Leave a comment telling me about how your skin hydration needs change during the summer and which of the St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotions. You’ll be entered for a chance to win a $100 Target gift card!

As both a surfer and dancer, my skin is always being exposed to the elements and it is in constant need of rehydration. The St. Ives Fresh Hydration lotions seem like a great solution for instant moisture!

  • 19
    AnnaGrace June 9, 2014, 9:35 am

I just recently moved to Colorado, and the air is much drier here! I also am able to run to work, so having a quick and easy spray lotion to keep in my locker would be fantastic!

  • 20
    Sarah June 9, 2014, 9:36 am

I think the oatmeal and shea butter one sounds wonderful! I show a lot more skin in the summer and hate ashy knees or elbows but hate thick lotion that is easy to sweat off. These would be great!

  • 21
    Katie June 9, 2014, 9:36 am

I need a lighter moisturizer in the summer, and sunscreen is always important! I have serious skin reactions to chemical sunblocks, and it is hard to find alternatives.

  • 22
    Beth M. June 9, 2014, 9:42 am

The Citrus & Vitamin C sounds very refreshing for summer! I often workout during my lunch break and, like you mentioned, putting lotion on afterwards is a pretty futile endeavor because I am still hot and sweaty–so if this lotion defies that conundrum then I would love to give it a try!

  • 23
    Megan June 9, 2014, 9:44 am

Would love to try any of these!

  • 24
    lindsey b June 9, 2014, 9:44 am

Living in MN requires us to constantly change up my skin hydration needs with the changing seasons! Now that it’s FINALLY getting warm, the humidity is in full force and I need a summer lotion that is lightweight and absorbs quickly. I especially want something that will sink into my skin and not “melt” off as I sweat. These look awesome!

  • 25
Megan (The Lyons' Share) June 9, 2014, 9:46 am

I think I generally need less moisturizer in the summer, but I never forget it! I also don’t like a heavy feel in the summer.

  • 26
    Megan June 9, 2014, 9:56 am

    Alison June 9, 2014, 9:58 am

I use the regular St Ives lotion during the winter, but a lighter feel and scent in the summer sounds perfect. I’d love to try the citrus scent.

  • 28
    Beth June 9, 2014, 10:02 am

My needs don’t chnage much over the summer fortunately it’s not too humid or dry where I live

  • 29
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance June 9, 2014, 10:04 am

I don’t need quite as much moisture in the summer (there’s plenty in the air here in Houston!), but I still always need something light after a shower. I’d love to try the coconut scent because it screams summer to me!

  • 30
    Helen June 9, 2014, 10:06 am

I think you said it all. Summer heat, does not work well with a heavy lotion. My legs still feel greasy this morning after my post-workout shower, but I can’t go without putting on lotion. The St. Ives continuous spray lotion looks like a great solution!

  • 31
    Mary-E June 9, 2014, 10:06 am

  • 32
    Lauren F. June 9, 2014, 10:09 am

Summer heat for sure is what changes with my summer skincare routine. I live in NYC and walk to work everyday, so I often go without any moisturizer at all just so I can avoid getting to work and feeling like a greasy mess. The coconut and orchid scent sounds amazing, perfect for summer.

  • 33
    Karen B June 9, 2014, 10:10 am

I have the citrus spray and love it!

  • 34
    Shannon June 9, 2014, 10:13 am

As a swimmer, I tend to spend more time in the outdoor pool during the summer. In addition to the harsh chlorine on my skin, I have to be careful about the sun too so I am always trying to rehydrate my skin after working out in the pool without the heavy feeling of lotions.

  • 35
    Autumn June 9, 2014, 10:16 am

My skin tends to be pretty dry in the summer due to multiple showers a day and in general just being outside. Citrus is my favorite scent, so I think my favorite would be Energizing Citrus and Vitamin C, but they all look great.

  • 41

  • 43
    Liz F. June 9, 2014, 10:59 am

My skin is actually not as dry in the summer – I think because of the humidity and my increased consumption of fruit – so I’m all about a lighter lotion!!
