Before I started my full-time fitness, yoga and writing career, I spent six years working a traditional 9-5 in marketing and advertising. When I had a desk job, my routine was pretty set Monday-Friday. Get up, workout, work, lunch break, work, evening activities, dinner, relax, repeat. My schedule rarely varied and things kind of ran like clockwork. I always knew exactly where I could fit in taking favorite classes, hanging out with friends, cooking, etc.
These days the word “routine” is just a little more foreign to me. There are literally not two days of my week that look alike. While I do have set classes that I teach, everything else is a toss up. I train when my clients want to train, I still do marketing and social media for the gym, I am always working on some type of deadline for writing projects, and I work on my blog whenever I can. It’s a constant juggle to find the right balance, but one thing that has really, really helped me is having a consistent evening routine.
I try not to take any clients/classes any later than 7:30 p.m. After I’m done for the day I come home, play with/walk Sullie, shower, do my evening skincare routine, cook dinner (most relaxing part of my evening), eat and decompress on the couch. When I’m ready to turn in for the night I make a big glass of water (I have to have water on the nightstand for some reason!), take my supplements and head to bed. I keep all of my supplements in the kitchen so that I remember to take them after making my water.
Recently, I’ve added a new multi-vitamin to my evening routine. I was taking a pre-natal for a while due to the extra folic acid aiding with iron absorption after my anemia diagnosis, but since I have that under control, I’ve switched to vitafusion MultiVites PLUS Hair, Skin and Nails.
I have been trying to grow my hair longer for years, and it just won’t go past a certain length. This summer I am trying to quit the flat iron and take supplements. And my nails need all the help they can get. I’ve had many people suggest that I start taking biotin so this multi-vitamin was perfect because it includes Vitamin A, C & E as well as high potency Biotin and Lutein to support the hair, skin and nails.
This is also my first time taking a gummy vitamin. I was really nervous to try them because I do not like the taste of vitamins when I am swallowing them and can only take vitamins at night before bed because of the taste and how they can sometimes make me nauseated. I was surprised to discover that these berry flavored gummy vitamins had a very pleasant taste and no vitamin flavor. I don’t know how they pull that off! The vitafusion MultiVites are a great alternative for anyone who has a hard time swallowing pills or with the smell/taste of traditional vitamins. You only eat two per day. I wanted to do a little research on how the gummies were flavored/colored and was pleased to find that most of their products use colors from plants, fruits and vegetables and not dyes and artificial flavors. The formula that I purchased includes beeswax, purple carrot juice concentrate and fractionated coconut oil.
And if you already have fabulous hair, skin and nails…MultiVites come in a variety of formulas including a traditional multi-vitamin, a heart support formula, an immune support formula and a digestive support formula with added fiber*. vitafusion and L’il Critters (their children’s line) offer a robust portfolio of vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements to help meet your health needs* through every stage of life – children, men, women, pregnant women and those 50+.
I have been feeling really great since adding these vitamins to my evening routine, and I cannot wait to give them a few months to see how I feel. I’m giving away a $100 Visa Gift card so that you can try out these vitafusion MultiVites too!
